ETH Switzerland Purchases 240 Channel G eode
Geometrics is pleased to announce the sale and delivery of a 240 channel Geode system to the well known research institution ETH, located in Switzerland. The system will be used for a variety of studies including a unique mountain-top deployment for monitoring a landslide threatening a Swiss town. A radio interface has been deployed so that the Geode can be viewed from a computer in the town, and also from ETH's main offices.
The heart of the system is a self-trigger algorithm and pretrigger memory in the Geodes that allow events to be measured in real time, then sampled at up to 20 kHz, as the application dictates.
Due to the extremely harsh environment and remote access, the system will be powered from for solar cells for the winter season. The flexible Geodes will also be used in other refraction and 3-D reflection studies.
