The history of geophysical exploration has many examples of clever methods to improve the efficiency of data collection. Few are as innovative as the 96 channel land streamer designed by geophysicist Dr. Carsten Ploug. Built using self-orienting gymboled geophones, the land streamer is towed behind a small vibrator manufactured by Industrial Vehicles of Tulsa Oklahoma. The cab of the dog house also houses a 96 channel Geode recording system. The small Geodes leave plenty of room in the vibrator cab and allow the entire survey to be undertaken by one person.
